Positions Available
NOW HIRING for enthusiastic candidates for a part-time, STEAM Academy Manager, part-time Starfire associate positions (includes Starfire leagues referees and Starfire academy soccer coaches [Starting pay $16.50-18.50 based on experience]), and STEAM Class Instructor Interns. The part-time associate position will include working in parking, concessions, guest services, refereeing and as a coach for our kids programs. STEAM Academy Manager
Starfire is looking for a motivated and energetic individual to manage the STEAM Academy. The new program will focus on igniting participants’ passion for science, technology, engineering, and math by exposing them to hands-on activities and projects. The STEAM Academy Manager will help facilitate and develop activities under Dr. Mike Dianovsky, Director of STEAM Education and Outreach.
Employment Type: Part-time, 20-30 hours per week
Location: Tukwila, WA
Compensation: $23.00 per hour

Basic Duties:
- Facilitate Starfire Stem classes, including set-up and teardown of classroom materials, and classroom maintenance. Classes are currently being held remotely.
- Assist STEAM participants with projects and activities.
- Help with STEAM instructor training and recruitment.
- Assist in curriculum development duties as assigned by the Director.
- Report both parent and student feedback.
- Conduct inventory and ordering of STEAM supplies and equipment.
- Participate in off-campus community outreach events and meetings.
- Attend weekly training meetings with the Director.
- Work primary shift during the week from 1 PM – 8 PM.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Attention to detail takes personal initiative, completes all work with high quality.
- Motivation to manage and lead others.
- Ability to multi-task and take direction.
- High level of communication skills.
- Able to work and connect with elementary and middle school-aged kids
- Strong interest in STEAM and Education
- Must pass a criminal history background check.
Desired skills/experience:
- Bi-lingual English-Spanish proficiency
- Prior experience working in informal learning environments (STEAM/Robotics club, after-school programs)

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
STEAM Class Instructor – Internship

Primary duties include:
- Act as a classroom aide for Starfire STEAM classes, working directly underneath the Director of STEAM Education and Outreach Development
- Assist STEAM participants with projects
- Become familiar with programs and activities

- Commitment to attend both classes on Monday and Thursday (5:00 PM – 7:30 PM) for the entire 10-week session starting September 7thand going through mid-November
