About Us

For more than 20 years, Starfire has been a hub for inclusive, community-driven programming in South King County. Each year, more than 65,000 athletes, students, and families come to our 54-acre campus to play, learn, and connect through sports and STEM. As a social enterprise, every dollar we earn is reinvested into our facilities, programs, and partners—allowing us to offer free or reduced-cost access to low-income youth.

Our Story & Mission

Starfire co-founders Chris Slatt, Steve Beck and Mark Bickham launched Starfire Sports in 2003. They were struck by the idea of combining inclusiveness with access to world-class facilities: a place where everyone in the community could participate, regardless of race, religion, social background or ability level.

Starfire Sports is guided by a dedicated Board of Directors committed to our mission of social impact and athletic excellence. Our board members bring a diverse range of expertise in business, community development, and sports management to ensure Starfire remains a premier destination for all soccer enthusiasts while expanding access to underserved youth in our region.
