Field Turf Rules
1. Adhere to the yellow curb guidelines Each FIELDturf field is outlined by a yellow curb to aid both participants and spectators in understanding where they are encouraged and discouraged to be. Participants are the only persons allowed on the FIELDturf, which is inside of the yellow curb.
- Participants: those taking part in any activities on the field
Spectators on the other hand are to stay behind the yellow lines surrounding the FIELDturf at all times.
- Spectator: those who watch activities on the FIELDturf
- ALL chairs, food and drinks are to also stay behind the yellow line and off the FIELDturf
2. Start and end your session according to the time indicated on your reservation If you have reserved a field with Starfire, your time on the field starts at the time indicated on your reservation permit. Absolutely no chairs or benches are to be placed on the FIELDturf prior to the start of your reservation and immediately following your reservation. Both before and after your scheduled time on the field, you are a spectator.
- Begin and end your session on time
- Respect current participants by staying off the FIELDturf
3. Water is the only beverage allowed on the FIELDturf No other food or drink is to be permitted. Food and drink other than water has the potential to block the FIELDturf drainage system and reduce the life of the turf.
4. No long blades or studs are to be worn while playing on the FIELDturf Footwear (and chairs) that have long blades, studs, or heels can put puncture holes in the FIELDturf which can cause unnecessary wear-andtear.
5. Clean your area used during your time on the FIELDturf Starfire rests within a 54-acre park which requires many hands to maintain its cleanliness; Please do your part to help by disposing of trash in the receptacles provided - Do not leave anything on or around the field. If your group is unable to comply with our clean-up guidelines, a clean-up fee may be applied to your team.
6. Follow the field number and time that is outlined on your field rental permit At the time of reservation you are given a field number and a rental time that your group can come down and enjoy. You are given a specific field because there are many other activities that go on during that same time frame. If you accidentally wind up on the wrong field, you will be moved regardless of the activity.
7. Stay off the FIELDturf and remain behind the yellow curb until your scheduled time. This includes all FIELDturf areas (indoor and outdoor); do not warm up on the field before your scheduled time, even if you believe a team is not using all of the field (i.e. just outside a coned area). Please do not kick a ball on the asphalt areas during a match/practice as the ball may go onto the field.
Soccer Match & Field Etiquette
Please stay off the the field entirely when watching a match, practice, or class.
- During a match, the assistant referee is allowed the touchline plus 3 yards to the outside of the field
- During a match, do not congregate near a touchline or corner flag so a player must move you to take a throw-in or corner kick
- Move quickly when walking behind a goal, distractions can cause an unfair disadvantage
All spectators are asked to sit or stand in the area off the FIELDturf (outside the yellow curb) and on the sideline in the space between both penalty boxes - this rule is set according to FIFA.
- When all spectators are put on one side of the field, the proper place to stand is 3 yards off the touchline leaving the area between the corner flag and the top of the penalty box open
PLEASE NOTE THAT COACHES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL PLAYER AND SPECTATOR BEHAVIOR DURING THEIR MATCH OR PRACTICE
Please remember:
- Food and drinks other than water have the potential to block the Fieldturf drainage system and reduce the life of the turf
- Chairs and some shoes with heels can puncture holes in the turf and/or cause unneeded wear-and-tear
