After joining the league in 2001, the Seattle Sounders/Saints are looking to make 2006 a successful year. With a new coaching staff of four widely experienced coaches, the team has a chance to return to the Championships. In 2001, their inaugural year, the Sounders/Saints finished in the Final Four of the United Soccer League (USL) W-League. Their best finish came in 2002 when the Sounders/Saints made it to the National Championship.
The Seattle Sounders/Saints are members of the USL W-League who compete in the Western Conference with teams from Colorado, California and Canada. The W-League consists of 34 teams across the country and is a National Elite Open Soccer League. A league which allows college players to compete along side professional players, the W-League offers great competition for women soccer players.
