Briana Scurry, the only goalkeeper in USA history to boast more than 100 caps in her career was here at Starfire Sports Saturday, April 23, 2005 to help us kick off our Grand Opening Celebration. Briana gave a motivational speech and afterwards was able to sign autographs for all the kids in attendance.

As the most decorated goalkeeper in women’s soccer history, Briana has not only brought home Olympic Gold, she also shares the glory of winning a World Championship in the 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup with the US Women’s National Team. As an inaugural member of the Women’s United Soccer Association (WUSA), Scurry stared as a member of the Atlanta Beat, winning the league’s Goalkeeper of the Year award in 2003 and named First Team All-WUSA three times.

In 2003, Nike Soccer went out to find the hottest street soccer players in LA. Over 1,000 ballers turned up to parks and recreation centers across the city to audition for a Nike Soccer contract and a spot on the Skills Squad Local coaches acted as scouts as players trialed at five events around Los Angeles. The top players were identified and FC Magia was born. Since then, FC Magia has traveled throughout the US representing a new brand of American soccer.

FC Magia members visiting Seattle and the Starfire Sports facility will be Tim Donnelly, Lawrence Smalls, Adriano Lima, Jason Thompson and James Ortega. FC Magia represents the breadth of soccer in LA, with wide ethnic and city representation.

In a short two years, they have
